Summary
Tyk has received inquiries regarding recently reported vulnerabilities impacting PHP and its file upload progress functionality (such as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619).
Tyk Technologies confirms that the Tyk platform and its core components are NOT affected by these vulnerabilities.
FAQ:
1. Does the Tyk platform utilize PHP?
• No. Tyk’s core components—including the Tyk Gateway, Tyk Dashboard, Tyk Pump, and Tyk MDCB—are natively built in Go (Golang). Supporting components (such as our modern Developer Portal frontend) utilize Node.js and Go. The Tyk software stack does not embed, distribute, depend on, or execute PHP runtimes.
2. Is file upload progress tracking or related PHP functionality utilized?
• No. The vulnerable code paths and features referenced in these advisories are specific to the PHP runtime engine and PHP file upload progress tracking modules, none of which exist in the Tyk architecture.
3. What is the impact on Tyk environments?
• Zero impact. Because PHP is not part of the Tyk codebase or official container/package distributions, Tyk deployments are not exposed to PHP remote code execution (RCE) or file upload vulnerabilities.
4. Are any actions or security patches required?
• No action or patching is required for Tyk components.
• Note for upstream API backends: If your upstream target services/APIs proxied through Tyk utilize PHP, please ensure those individual backend applications are reviewed and patched according to the vendor's guidance. Tyk acts as a reverse proxy/gateway and does not introduce or mitigate PHP-level runtime vulnerabilities within upstream application servers.
